Looking for some real world Data experience?

The Data Competence Center of MEDIALAAN - De Persgroep welcomes applications from students and young graduates who are looking to apply their knowledge to topics such as churn modeling, user segmentations, targeted advertising and personalized content recommendations. We do this work for applications & brands such as VTM, Het Laatste Nieuws, De Morgen, Qmusic and Mobile Vikings.

After a successful pilot in 2018, we are now considering applications from students who are interested in a 6 week paid internship during the summer of 2019. If you already obtained a bachelors degree you can submit your application by providing us with a short resume as well as a short description of what you hope to learn during the internship. A degree in an IT specific program is not required, although we expect candidates to be able to program in either Python or Scala and know how to write basic SQL queries. Basic knowledge of statistics and Machine Learning applications is preferred. 

What will your job look like? You will collaborate on a specific project as a member of one of our squads.  You will be mentored by a dedicated team member who will help you go through an entire project during your internship. Think refined churn algorithms, new data aggregation pipeline, user or content classifiers…

Aanbod
The project and squad that you will work in will be determined together with you during a short assessment interview. Our squads supporting HLN & De Morgen are based in Kobbegem while our Video and Radio teams are based in Vilvoorde.  Applicants will be required to travel to Vilvoorde or Kobbegem for 80% of their internship.  Application deadline is 22nd of April 2019. Shortlist and assessment interviews will be planned during May 2019.
